Reading and Watching
I’ll be honest, when people ask if I’ve seen a movie or tv show, the overwhelming majority of the time the answer will be no. And this isn’t because I don’t like movies and tv! I just have esoteric (ok, perhaps just bad) taste and so little time. But I’ll yap to anyone about what I do watch and read, including the porn and porn-ish stuff if they’ll let me.
Reading, Non-Porn:
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon by Naoko Takeuchi, English Translation - I borrowed the manga set from a friend and just zipped through the first one. Though I’ve never read Sailor Moon, it’s a heartwarming nostalgia trip, since I watched so much of the American shows and movies as a kid.
Dear Dumb Diary Series by Jim Benton - another purely nostalgia indulgence, I literally laughed out loud reading one of these books in class in 5th grade when I was supposed to be working on a worksheet silently like everyone else. I’m reading them with my boyfriend before bed when we have sleepovers and he’s just invested as I am at this point. I found out there’s a movie of it just now, when I googled the books to make sure I remembered the author’s name right, so maybe I will have to watch that.
Waffle, by Chomper - an absolutely absurd adventure for movies and the rights to express ourselves, luchador style or otherwise. While the first two chapters felt a bit slow, once I got in the groove, my heart was captured.
Graphic Novels and Comics, with varying degrees of porn:
And the Streets Awash in Blood by shaydh - very explicit hate fucking and violence, fantasy
Libby & Holly by Winton Kidd - Also straight up porn, sweet sapphic librarian romance
On a Leash by Aji - I just started this and am not sure what to expect but I believe this is also pornographic
Ok so all of the graphic novels I’ve read lately are explicit, but I enjoyed the story of And the Streets Awash in Blood quite a bit too. There wasn’t a ton of story to Libby & Holly but it had cute and comedic moments too, and there seems to be some forest magic happening that hasn’t yet been explored much?
Watching:
I’m halfway through the Substance which is INCREDIBLE. And I’ve put together a list of must-see movies (if you follow my instagram or bluesky you might have helped contribute!) which I’m going to start watching. I’ve pretty much abandoned all of the streaming services, but I’m so willing to hunt down online rentals, check out my friend Miss Bat’s extensive VHS collection, or otherwise find copies.
Otherwise, I haven’t been watching a lot, whether that’s shows or movies or porn or whatever. I’ll update more the next time I decide to do a reading and watching post, probably.
